EVN reveals operational plans to year-end

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is expected to generate 2,156 MW more for the national grid by the year’s end, bringing the group’s supply to the network to 3,150 MW.

EVN also has a plan to start building 32 power plants and complete theconstruction of 49 power grids of 220-500 KV this year.

From now to the end of the year, the group will also begin receivingbids on a series of power projects: Mong Duong No.1 with a capacity of1,000 MW; Nghi Son No1, 600 MW; Vinh Tan No2, 1,200 MW; and Duyen HaiNo1, 1,200 MW, in order to begin their construction as soon as possible.

In the short-term, the group will sign an engineering, procurement andconstruction (EPC) contract to build the Vinh Tan No.2 power plant inOctober and the Duyen Hai No1, in December.

It will also make a drive to finalise its investment reports on theNinh Thuan nuclear power plant and the Lai Chau hydro power plant,which will be submitted to the National Assembly for approval.

In the long-term, EVN is expected to invest in a series of otherprojects including thermo power plants Thai Binh No.1, O Mon No.3, and4, and hydro power plants in Lai Chau and Trung Son.

Also, EVN continues carrying out projects to light up households inrural areas including the north-western province of Lai Chau , fiveCentral Highlands provinces and two Mekong Delta provinces, Tra Vinhand Soc Trang.

The group has now ensured enough construction capital--nearly 52trillion VND--for its electricity works scheduled to be built thisyear./.

Construction of new Phong Chau bridge kicks off

The Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of the northern province of Phu Tho on December 21 started the construction of the new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C to replace the old one, which collapsed as a result of Typhoon Yagi.
