EVN sells over 58 billion kWh of electricity in Jan-Apr

The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) sold over 58 billion kWh of electricity in the first four months of 2018, representing a year-on-year rise of 10.59 percent.

Hanoi (VNA) –
The Electricity of Vietnam(EVN) sold over 58 billion kWh of electricity in the first four months of 2018,representing a year-on-year rise of 10.59 percent.

Domestic commercial power output rose by 10.51percent in the four-month period, according to EVN.

In April alone, the corporation sold over 16billion kWh of electricity, up 10.34 percent against the same month last year.

Electricity losses in January-April wereestimated at 6.81 percent, 0.39 percentage points lower than the set target of7.2 percent.

In April 2018, the company ensured stable andsafe supply of electricity for the whole country, especially on the occasion ofthe four-day holiday on the occasion of April 30 (the Southern Liberation andNational Reunification day) and May 1 (the International Labour Day).

EVN produced and bought 67 billion kWh of powerin four months, a year-on-year rise of 11.08 percent, including 18.03 billionkWh in April.

Power transmission in April was estimated at15.3 billion kWh, and the figure for the four months was 56.4 billion kWh, up10.8 percent over the same period last year.

In April 2018, EVN completed the divestment atThu Duc Electro Mechanical Joint Stock Company (EMC), collecting 77.51 billionVND (3.4 million USD). 

The corporation said it will work out measuresto ensure meeting electricity demand across the country, especially in thesecond quarter of 2018 – the peak of the dry season. It expects a growth ofabout 12.5 percent in demand this year.

EVN will push forward with the equitisation ofthe EVN Power Generation Corporation 1 and 2 in addition to deploying measuresto start one-stop-shop services in southern Ho Chi Minh City and northern BacNinh province.

It plans to hold the first meeting ofshareholders at the EVN Power Generation Corporation 3 after the Prime Ministerapproves the adjustment of the corporation’s equitisation plan.-VNA
