Exemplary patriotic models honoured

Present at the ceremony wereState President Truong Tan Sang; President of the Vietnam GeneralConfederation of Labou Dang Ngoc Tung; Minister of Labour, Invalids andSocial Affairs Pham Hai Chuyen; Minister of Science and TechnologyNguyen Quan; and Director of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Nguyen HoaBinh.

The honoured units and individuals are thosewho have been awarded the “Hero of Labour”, “Hero of Armed Forces”titles or exemplary models in patriotic emulation movements.

Theyhave tirelessly devoted their brainpower and creativity to the processof national construction and defence and symbolise the spirit, will andstrength of the Vietnamese people in the new era.

Honouringexemplary models has promoted patriotic emulation movements and createda great source of encouragement for officials, soldiers and the entirepeople to surmount difficulties and contribute further to nationalconstruction and development.

The event wasco-organised by the Lao Dong (Labour) Newspaper, Vietnam Television,Asia Friendship Company and Department for Information and Trainingunder the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army./.

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). The provincial licensing rate for fishing activities has reached 81.94%, while 99% of local vessels required to install vessel monitoring systems (VMS) have complied.

A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.

Tay Ninh strives to eliminate temporary houses by Q2

In 2025, the southwestern province plans to rebuild or renovate 567 houses under its temporary housing eradication plan, including 443 new constructions and 124 repairs, with an estimated budget of over 44.8 billion VND (1.75 million USD).

Vietnam set to host Vesak 2025 with thorough preparations

The United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations 2025 will take place from May 6-8 in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development.” The event is expected to welcome around 2,000 delegates from Vietnam and abroad.
