An exhibition of paintings on the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s cartoon characters will be held in Hanoi from May 26 – June 1, as a gift to Vietnamese children on International Children’s Day (June 1).
It will include an array of activities, and show some of the RoK’s most renowned animated films such as “Pororo the racing adventure” and “Leafie, a hen into the wild”.
Visitors at the opening ceremony will have a chance to contemplate the drawings of some of the country’s most famous cartoonists, who will draw and sign pictures for people on the spot.
As many as 150 children, including some from social sponsored organisations, will be invited to the opening ceremony, where they will be presented cartoon books and related gifts.
Director of the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam Park Nark Jong expressed his hope that the exhibition will, together with K-pop and Korean films, bring the Korean wave to Vietnam .
It will also boost cooperation in animation between the two countries, he added.-VNA
