An exhibition on the history of the world’s coffee industry opened on March 9 at the Coffee World Museum in Buon Ma Thuot city in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

More than 10,000 objects and pictures highlighting the development of the coffee industry over stages from the ancient time to medieval and feudal periods and at present are put on display.

Typical objects could be named as manual and electric coffee grinders and filters, coffee roasting machines, and automatic coffee selling machines.

Meanwhile, pictures on show depict the scenes of farmers’ harvesting coffee and people’s enjoying coffee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Canh said the eight-day exhibition, the first of its kind in Dak Lak, aims to spread the quintessence of Buon Ma Thuot-branded coffee.

The Coffee World Museum has been an ideal place for coffee lovers to explore the global coffee culture, he added.

The same time, a photo exhibition highlighting the 44th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory – Paths of History is taking place at the Dak Lak Museum of Ethnology.

With 200 documentary and art photos, the exhibition features four main themes: Buon Ma Thuot – the historical battle; Dak Lak’s socio-economic panorama over the past 44 years; Dak Lak’s socio-economic development plan through 2020 with a vision to 2030; and local potential agro-forestry-industry products.
