Experimental theater festival to be held in Hanoi
Over 20 art troupes from seven countries will participate in an international experimental theater festival in Hanoi from October 4 to 13.
Seven troupes from Hungary, Israel, India, South Korea, China, Singapore, and Greece and 14 troupes of host Vietnam will perform at the festival, with each staging one play.
Experimental theater represents a number of theatrical styles that strive to create innovative works and develop new concepts and techniques in stage production.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on October 4, starting 8 p.m. A play called “Solar eclipse” by the HCMC-based The Gioi Tre Theater troupe will open the festival.
The fourth international experimental theater festival is being co-organized by the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, the Performing Arts Department, and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports./.
