Scientists and economists gathered in HCM City on Sep 23 to discuss economic restructure, an important part in the country’s socio-economic development.

The event was jointly held by the National Assembly’s Economic Committee and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.

Participants at the seminar discussed the economic situation in 2010, prospects for development next year and socio-economic development measures up to 2015.

They said the main task for Vietnam in the next five years is to give priority to improving the quality of economic development, creating foundations for a sustainable growth in the next fifteen years.

The delegates agreed that Vietnam ’s goals in the long term are to restructure the whole economy and set a national strategic development plan./.
