International exhibition "Vietbuild Hanoi", which will be held fromMarch 24-28, is geared to help boost the construction and real estatesectors.

This was stated by former head of theMinistry of Construction's building materials department and deputydirector of Vietbuild organisation committee Nguyen Quang Cung on March20.

He told a press conference that by showing newconstruction technologies and materials, Vietbuild would focus ondeveloping large domestic producers and new products as well as foreignmanufacturers of technology.

"Saving energy andbeing environmentally friendly will be the theme of the exhibition thistime, especially nanotechnology," Cung said.

Savingenergy in producing building materials was also a common trendworldwide, which helped reduce product prices and enhance efficiency.

Unlike exhibitions in many other countries, Vietbuildfocused on products rather than technologies, which meant the exhibitionwould offer new ideas to businesses.

In addition to construction materials, Vietbuild would also promote real estate projects because the two ran hand in hand.

The exhibition this year has attracted interest from 1,350 showcasesof 450 enterprises, 209 of which were domestic producers. Companies from19 nations and territories will also join Vietbuild, particularlyChinese firms.-VNA
