Facility preparations for APEC leaders’ week completed

Hanoi (VNA) – All facility preparations, including hotels as well as conference and media centres, for the APEC Economic Leaders' Week are basically completed, theForeign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said in a regular pressconference in Hanoi on October 12.

To ensure thatevents of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week take place smoothly, formally andefficiently, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the APEC 2017National Committee, had examined the rehearsal of events within the week anddirected organisation plans as well as backup schemes for reception, press, logistics,security, medical care and food safety, Hang said.

The APECEconomic Leaders’ Week - the last and most important activity in the APEC Year2017 - is scheduled to take place in central Da Nang city from November 6-11.

Established in1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum comprises 21economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong(China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, NewZealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, ChineseTaipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.-VNA
