Hanoi (VNA) – The Prime Minister on July 27 decided to bestow upon 242 fallen soldiers the certificate recognising their dedication to the Fatherland. The “To quoc ghi cong” (The Fatherland acknowledges the merit) certificate honours 242 martyrs from the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence, and 31 localities nationwide.
Vietnam marks the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27 annually.
Seventy four years ago, then President Ho Chi Minh designated July 27 as the War Invalids and Martyrs Day to remind the entire Party, armed forces and people of the tradition of expressing gratitude to forerunners, thereby contributing to the great national unity bloc and public trust in the Party and State./.
