The Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) on March 9 hosted an event to bring together female foreign ambassadors and diplomats to cheer the International Women’s Day (March 8).
HUFO President Dao Van Binh lauded the female diplomats for fostering their countries’ friendly cooperative ties with Hanoi, saying this laid the good foundation for the city’s sustainable development and international integration.
Binh affirmed that Hanoi will always be a safe and friendly destination for international friends.
Greek Ambassador to Vietnam Rose Ieremia said Vietnam has worked hard to promote gender equality, a key issue of concern all over the world.
She expressed hope of taking part in various friendship activities during her working term in Vietnam.
