Festival to honour traditional values of Vietnamese family

An array of cultural activities will be held in the framework of the Vietnam Family Festival on June 22 to mark the National Family Day (June 28), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Hanoi (VNA)- An array of cultural activities will be held in theframework of the Vietnam Family Festival on June 22 to mark the National FamilyDay (June 28), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Various aspects and traditional values of Vietnamese families will behighlighted at an exhibition themed “Family-love fulcrum”.

Activities of the Vietnam Women’s Union in mobilising and supporting women to buildhappy families and promote the role of family in child education will beintroduced at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the “Vietnamese Equal Family” photo exhibition will showcase 20excellent photos selected from a contest held by the Embassy of Sweden inVietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Thephotos encourage the equal sharing of family-related duties among familymembers.

Standout traditional products made by 19 families from 15 traditional craftvillages in Hanoi city and Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and CaoBang provinces will be on display as well. It aims to honour traditionalcultural values, industriousness and creativeness in the craft families.

In addition, “Family with reading culture” corner will encourage readingculture in families while promoting strong bonds between parents and children.

The festival will run until June 24 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre forCulture and Arts.-VNA

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province has completed registration for all “three-no” fishing boats - vessels without registration, licences or monitoring systems - measuring six metres or more. Vietnam, US hold 169th repatriation ceremony for American MIA servicemen

At the ceremony, Vietnam handed over four boxes containing remains recovered during recent joint excavations in Hue city, and Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces. Preliminary forensic analysis on April 15 suggested the remains may belong to US MIAs and they will be sent to Hawaii for further identification.
