Fidel’s memoir debuts in HCM City

The Vietnamese edition of a two-volume memoir on the fighting career of former Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz was unveiled in Ho Chi Minh City on July 20, on the occasion of Cuba’s 60th Moncada uprising anniversary.

It gives readers a full and honest account of thelast period in the national liberation struggle of the Cuban peopleagainst the Batista dictatorship, as well as the challenges faced by theCuban leader, and his efforts to uphold ethical principles ofthe Cuban army.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Fredesman TurroGonzalez noted that the book, written by Fidel himself is a preciousasset and must-see reference for those who are keen to learn about therevolutionary history of Cuba.

At the event, a copy of thebook printed on do paper and put in a lacquer box was sent to theformer President as a gift on his 87th birthday.-VNA
