Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) has launched its 5th green architecture awards, a biennial activity to promote awareness about sustainable and green architecture.
Eligible entries consist of approved projects on green solutions; and architectural constructions as well as urban and rural complexes that are being built or have already become operational. Those designed by Vietnamese architects can be located in Vietnam or overseas, while those by foreign ones must be in Vietnam.
The entries will be judged over five criteria – sustainable location, efficient use of resources and energy, environmental quality, typical cultural characteristics, and sustainable social and humanitarian impact.
According to VAA Chairman Nguyen Tan Van, the competition this year appreciates buildings that use smart materials, reflect Vietnamese cultural characteristics, and bring better living standards for the communities particularly in disadvantaged areas.
The organising board said submissions should be sent to the VAA’s headquarters at No 40 Tang Bat Ho street in Hanoi, with the deadline scheduled for December 29.
The awards will take place in late April 2020. There will be a golden prize worth 50 million VND (2,150 USD).-VNA
