On the afternoon of May 6th, the fire ceremony and torch relay of the 31st SEA Games took place at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi).

Attending the ceremony were 11 athletes symbolizing 11 countries attending the 31st SEA Games. They all have brought many brilliant achievements to Vietnamese sports.

All forces participating in the ceremony gathered at Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium before the parade. A poice car led the group and was followed by two convertibles carrying 11 athletes.

In particular, fencer Vu Thanh An, who was the flag bearer for the Vietnamese delegation at the opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games on the evening of May 12th, was chosen by the Organizing Committee as the person holding the torch without fire.

Delegation went to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to lay a memorial wreath, then continued to move to the Ho Chi Minh Museum to perform the flame ignition ceremony. After that, the sacred fire were brought to My Dinh Stadium and kept in the Ho Chi Minh worshipping hall./.
