Nearly 550 cases of fire and explosions occurred nation-wide, leaving 23 deaths, 44 injured and causing damages worth 128 billion VND (6 million USD) in the first four months of this year.
The Ministry of Public Security’s Fire Prevention and Control Police and Search and Rescue Department, who released the statistics, cited people’s low awareness of the prevention and their careless use of fuel and electricity as major causes.
