Flag-raising ceremony in Hanoi marks ASEAN establishment
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a flag-hoisting ceremony in Hanoi on August 8 to mark the 51st founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Foreign ministers of ASEAN countries held meetings with their counterparts from the bloc’s partners, including the Republic of Korea (RoK), Canada, Australia, the US, and the European Union (EU), in Singapore on August 3.
Foreign ministers of ASEAN countries and three partner nations - China, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Japan (ASEAN+3) - met in Singapore on August 4, agreeing on the need for ASEAN+3 to continue contributing to economic connectivity and opening trend in the region.
Vietnam is committed to closely coordinating with the ASEAN Secretariat and other member states in building a strong ASEAN Community, said Vietnam’s new Permanent Representative to ASEAN Tran Duc Binh on August 6.
Vietnam has actively got involved in the realisation of ASEAN commitments since the country joined the association on July 28, 1995, according Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung.
