Hanoi (VNA) - FLC Thanh Hoa squandered a two goal lead to draw3-3 with hosts Global Cebu FC of the Philippines, ending both sides’ slimhopes of advancing from group G of the Asian Football Confederation Cup onApril 11.

The draw in the fifth match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium coupled withYangon United’s 3-2 win over Bali United the same day means only the Myanmarside will qualify for the knock-out stage as winners of the group.

The V-League team started brightly, with Edward Ofere opening the scoringin the second minute. However, Global Cebu equalised minutes later though RufoChasnchez.

Although the Filipino side dominated, Thanh Hoa restored their lead in the 25thminute thanks to forward Le Thanh Binh.

The Vietnamese doubled their lead shortly after the restart, with striker HoangDinh Tung firing home, putting Thanh Hoa in a great position to win.

However it was not to be, as two headed goals in the 82nd and 90th minutes bythe home side sent the visitors home disappointed.-VNA
