These used to be bleak concrete roads. Now flowers blossom around the year along the two sides of roads in the rural district of Hai Hau in the northern province of Nam Dinh.

This is part of the district’s efforts in response to new-style rural development campaign.

Flower planting has been developed in almost all communes in Hai Hau district. The ‘ten o’clock flower’, that as the name suggests blooms at exactly ten o’clock, is a favorite here. Watering the flowers is now a task shared among residents here, especially women.

This community project adds more color to the scenery, creating a more vibrant living space for both children and adults in the area.-VNA
