Foreign leaders extend congratulations to new Party chief

Leaders from various political parties and countries continue to send congratulatory messages to Party General Secretary, President To Lam following his election to the top position in the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

Hanoi (VNA) – Leaders from various political parties and countries continue to send congratulatory messages to Party General Secretary, President To Lam following his election to the top position in the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new Party chief, Vietnam will achieve further development and elevate its international standing. Yoon said he wishes to work closely with Lam to strengthen the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership across all sectors, contributing to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

Nicaraguan President and leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) Daniel Ortega and Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo congratulated the Vietnamese leader and emphasised their readiness to enhance cooperation between the FSLN and the CPV.

Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed that the election of To Lam is a clear indication of the CPV’s confidence in his leadership, aiming to lead Vietnam towards new heights of progress and prosperity.

Chairman of the United Russia Party (URP) Dmitry Medvedev expressed trust that with his extensive political experience and high professionalism, General Secretary Lam will effectively contribute to Vietnam's socio-economic development and independent foreign policy. He also anticipated further strengthening of relations between the URP and the CPV. Meanwhile, S.M. Mironov, Chairman of the A Just Russia (SR) party, praised To Lam as a respected and responsible leader and stressed his wish to continue constructive dialogue between the SR and CPV to support the development of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Chairman of the Presidium of the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) Central Committee Shii Kazuo said he believes that under the Party General Secretary’s leadership, the CPV and Vietnamese people will continue to reap more success in their Doi Moi cause and that the two parties will strengthen their cooperation and exchanges to contribute to cementing the relations between the two nations.

Chung Eui-yong, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), and Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Co-Chairperson and Special Rapporteur of the ICAPP Standing Committee, expressed their confidence that the Vietnamese leader’s 40 years of experience will lead to outstanding achievements. They said they seek to build a closer partnership between ICAPP and the CPV to promote peace and prosperity in the region.

First Secretary of the Communist Party of Belarus’s Central Committee Sergei Syrankov said he believes that as Party General Secretary, To Lam will contribute new insights and enrich the theoretical and practical aspects of socialism, supporting the international communist and workers' movement.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Peru Domingo Cabrera Toro praised Lam's remarks that underscore his commitment to strengthening unity and together with the CPV Central Committee and Politburo to lead the Vietnamese Party, people, army towards successful implementation of the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress.

Secretary General Néstor Rego of Spain’s Galician People's Union expressed confidence that the Party chief will continue the legacy of his predecessors, including the late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and lead Vietnam to future successes. Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) Enrique Santiago shared his belief that in his new, highly responsible position, Party General Secretary Lam will lead the CPV in continuing to advance Vietnam’s glorious history and cause of national construction and protection.

First Vice President of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) Diosdado Cabello Rondón affirmed Lam’s election as a testament to his exemplary contributions, adding he has confidence in Vietnam’s continued strengthening of defence, security, political stability, and sustainable economic development under the Party General Secretary's leadership.

General Secretary of the Portuguese Communist Party Paolo Raimondo said he believes that the CPV will successfully accomplish the tasks, goals set by the 13th National Party Congress and effectively prepare for the 14th congress, and that Vietnam will continue to develop, realise the aspirations of its people, and advance toward socialism.

The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People's Liberation Front, head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Communist Party of Spain Manuel Pineda, Secretary of International Affairs of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain Víctor M. Lucas, and Secretary of the Sudanese Communist Party Fathi Alfadl also sent congratulatory messages to Party General Secretary and President To Lam./.
