Foreign tourist arrivals up 68.3% in first 4 months
Facilitative visa policies and attractive tourism stimulus programmes have proven effective in attracting a high number of international visitors to Vietnam compared to the same period last year.
The tourism sector served about 8 million tourists during the five-days holiday from April 27 to May 1, up over 14% year on year, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has reported.
Tourists from the Republic of Korea are falling for Vietnam’s beaches with stark soft sand and crystal azure water, online travel platform Agoda has said.
The total number of tourists to the central coastal city of Da Nang in the first quarter was estimated at nearly 1.9 million, an increase of 23.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
Vietnam has welcomed over 4.6 million foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter of this year, up 72% year-on-year, and 3.2% compared to the figure recorded in the same period of 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak.
