Former HCM City vice chairman arrested

Police have taken former vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Tin, born in 1957, into custody over wrongdoings in the management and use of State assets.

HCM City (VNA) - Police have taken former vice chairman of the HoChi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Tin, born in 1957, into custodyover wrongdoings in the management and use of State assets.

Dao Anh Kiet, born in 1957, former head of the municipal Department of Environmentand Natural Resources, and Truong Van Ut, born in 1970, deputy head of the department’sland management unit, were also arrested under similar charges.

Police said on November 19 that the Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security had begun criminalproceedings against the three in cases relating to Phan Van Anh Vu (also knownas Vu Nhom) that took place in Ho Chi Minh.
 
The arrest of the three former city’s officials was part of an investigationinto violations and mismanagement of State assets, namely the properties at 15Thi Sach Street and 2, 4 and 6 Hai Ba Trung Street in District 1, HCM City.

Earlier, Nguyen Huu Tin was barred from going outside his place of residence. -VNA

To accommodate surging travel demand and keep transport operations running smoothly, the PM instructed relevant bodies to boost transport capacity, particularly public passenger services, to ensure seamless connections at railway stations, airports, bus terminals and ferry ports.
