Hanoi (VNA) – The Asia Infrastructure Forum took place in Singapore on October 2 – 3, with over 800 local and regional policymakers, investors and representatives from infrastructure companies discussing measures to meet the growing regional infrastructure needs.

The two-day forum was organised by Infrastructure Asia (IA), which was established by Enterprise Singapore and Monetary Authority of Singapore to support infrastructure financing and development in the region.

Speaking at the event, IA Executive Director Seth Tan noted that his department is strengthening the work with stakeholders across the infrastructure ecosystem to match the demand and supply in Asia's infrastructure development.

At the forum’s session on infrastructure market place, Lim Chze Cheen, head of ASEAN connectivity division, listed five strategic areas of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025, namely sustainable infrastructure, digital innovation, seamless logistics, regulatory excellence and people mobility.

According to him, ASEAN has identified Initial Pipeline priority projects with regional connectivity impact, while conducting pre-feasibility studies and developing a financing options analysis for them.

These projects are to focus on strengthening regional connectivity, bringing economic and social benefits, and addressing sustainability and viability, he added./.
