Khanh Hoa(VNA) - The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre on December22 brought four injured seamen from a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel to the south-centralprovince of Khanh Hoa’s general hospital.

A day earlier, thecentre received a mayday call from the vessel Chemsinyoo, which was en-routefrom Singapore to China. The ship’s captain asked for medical assistance andthe transporting of the injured to the shore for urgent treatment.

Aboard the Chemsinyoo,which encountered an accident 99 nautical miles to the southeast off the coastof Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang city, four crewmembers - two from China and two fromBangladesh - were seriously injured. A mechanic, an Indonesian national born in1987, died.

Despite the badweather, the rescue mission was a success, with COVID-19 prevention and controlmeasures strictly conducted during the process./.
