Hanoi (VNA) – The fourthVietnam Economic Forum is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on June 5with a focus on how to build an independent and self-reliant economy with extensiveintegration in the new context.

The forum will be held by theParty Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the Government, and the HCM CityPeople’s Committee.

It will serve as a platformfor ministries, sectors, localities, scientists, researchers, enterprises, andrepresentatives of some international organisations to share opinions andviewpoints which will be considered in the Party Central Committee’s draftingof socio-economic policies, Vice Chairman of the Economic Commission NguyenThanh Phong told a press meeting in Hanoi on May 31.

The event’s plenary sessionwill look into the global economy and major trends in international economiccooperation, opportunities and challenges to Vietnam in the global economy,digital technology manpower, and risk governance.

Meanwhile, three paneldiscussions will look into how to form a stable labour supply chain after theCOVID-19 pandemic; the development of capital and real estate markets; andtechnological reform, digital transformation, and supply chain diversification.

Phong noted this will be thefirst time the forum takes place in HCM City, which is the country’s economic locomotiveand was also hit hardest by the pandemic last year. It will convey a messageabout the strong recovery and development of the metropolis and Vietnam as awhole./.

Hanoi strengthens oversight of transition to E10 biofuel

To ensure compliance with the transition roadmap, the Hanoi Market Surveillance Sub-Department has requested petrol traders to proactively review and upgrade storage tanks, fuel pumps and other technical conditions necessary for E10 distribution, thereby preventing disruptions to fuel supply serving consumption and production demands across the capital.

Authorities ordered to closely monitor rollout of E10 biofuel from June 1

According to the agency, the move is aimed at ensuring the effective and synchronised implementation of the E10 transition roadmap under Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on November 7, 2025. The plan seeks to avoid delays or supply disruptions that could affect the domestic fuel market.
