The Order of Academic Palms, established in the early 19th century, is a noble decoration that the French Government bestows upon distinguished persons in the fields of education, science, culture, and arts.

On behalf of the French Ministry of National Education, Consul General of France in HCM City Vincent Floreani presented the order to Dien at a ceremony on July 19.
