Passengers waiting in the lounges of Hanoi’s three major bus stations at My Dinh, Giap Bat and Gia Lam will soon have access to free wifi international services.
The new service may be rolled out before Tet (Lunar New Year).
Nguyen Tung Anh, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, told Dan Tri (people’s Knowledge) newspaper that the company is working with internet service providers to expedite the project.
The first bus station in Vietnam to offer free wifi service was the Mien Tay (Southwest or Mekong Delta region) Bus Station in Binh Tan district, Ho Chi Minh City.
Kieu Nam Thanh, Director of the Mien Tay Bus Station, said that the free wifi service started on January 8 within the station’s newly built 900sq.m hall, but he claimed that after Tet, its reach will be expanded to cover 47,000sq.m so that the passengers on board buses, waiting to disembark, can also connect to the internet.-VNA
