Hanoi (VNA) – President of the National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone concluded his official visit to Vietnam on March 21.
During the stay from March 18, the French legislative leader held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, paid a courtesy visit to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and met with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
During the talks and meetings, the two sides affirmed their resolve to do the best to elevate parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The French National Assembly President’s visit was hailed as an important landmark which helps strengthen the cooperation between the law-making organs of the two countries, contributing to deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to increase the exchange of high level delegations and promote economic affiliation in the fields of transport, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, education, health care and training.
They also agreed to attach importance to defence and security cooperation for peace and security in the region and the world.
The French National Assembly President also attended the 2016 Francophone Festival in Hanoi and had a working session with Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong.-VNA
