Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach (R) and UVFA President Oleksandr Vitaliyovich Shlapak at the meeting (Photo: VNA) Kiev (VNA) – The Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Association (UVFA) gathersUkrainians who are most dedicated to fostering the relationship between the twonations, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach.
Speakingat a meeting with leaders of the association on December 21, Thach hoped theUVFA to enhance its connection role and support the embassy in consolidatingand promoting the bilateral solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between thetwo countries and their people.
He askedthe association to help introduce the image of Vietnamese landscapes andpeople, develop Vietnam-Ukraine economic and trade ties, and create favourableconditions for Vietnamese expatriates in Ukraine, particularly the businesscommunity, in overcoming COVID-19-related difficulties.
Thediplomat suggested the leaders look for activities to diverse the association’soperation in propelling the traditional friendship and win-win cooperation inall aspects between Vietnam and Ukraine.
UVFA PresidentOleksandr Vitaliyovich Shlapak thanked the ambassador for meeting leaders of theassociation right after his tenure began.
Appreciatingthe embassy’s engagement in the UVFA’s activities, he vowed to furthercollaborate with the embassy and the ambassador in organising practical eventsto consolidate the Vietnam – Ukraine comprehensive partnership and cooperation.
He proposedthe embassy, in coordination with relevant agencies of Vietnam, considerconferring a friendship order upon the Kyiv National University of Constructionand Architecture on the occasion of its 90th founding anniversary in honour of the establishment’ssignificant contributions to the bilateral relations since the 1960s./.
