Theassociation’s task for the 2014-2019 tenure were agreed upon at itsfourth national congress in Hanoi on November 18.
Addressing the event, Vice President of the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations (VUFO) Nguyen Thi Hoang Van hailed the VHFA’sachievements in developing Vietnam-Hungary ties during the previoustenure.
She also urged the association tocontinue enhancing its connections with Hungary-based friends, partnersand Vietnamese communities, acting as a bridge between the two countriesand their peoples.
Hungarian Ambassador toVietnam Torda Eszter said the embassy will actively work with the VHFAto develop relations between the two peoples.
The congress elected a 46-member executive committee, with former ViceChairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technologyand Environment Nguyen Dang Vang as President.
On the occasion, several VHFA units and individuals were honoured for their active contributions to people-to-people diplomacy.-VNA
