On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021, representatives of the embassies of Canada, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland (G4) sent the best wishes to the Vietnamese peacekeeping force.

Mr. Joseph Mayhew, Charge d'Affaires of the New Zealand Embassy, said that G4 sent "congratulations” and showed their support for Vietnam's greater participation in peacekeeping missions on a global scale."

He said the G4 countries strongly supported peacekeeping missions. They also support gender equality and women's empowerment activities.

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Jan Wilhelm Grythe, Chargé d'Affaires of the Norwegian Embassy in Vietnam, assessed: “Women are capable of taking on the same roles as men.

For his part, Mr. Ivo Sieber, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, commented that much remains to be done to make peace efforts more inclusive, in which the participation of women plays a very important role./.
