A get-together was held in Rome on March 24 for around 50 Italian families who have adopted Vietnamese children.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long described the annual gathering as a good chance for the families to understand more about Vietnam, the home country of their adoptive children.
He affirmed that Vietnam will cooperate closely with Italy in conducting procedures for child adoption, adding that the embassy will work to strengthen ties with adoptive families of Vietnamese children in Rome.
Chairman of the association of Italian adoptive families of Vietnamese children Carlo Silvan said most adopted children have integrated quickly into their new families.
Many adoptive families said that they will try to take their children to visit Vietnam to gain a better understanding of their homeland.-VNA
