Germany funds central students to study

The German State of Hessen on April 10 held a ceremony at Da Nang University to grant scholarships worth 6 million VND each to 26 outstanding students who are studying at universities and colleges in the central region.

The activity is part ofan educational cooperation programme between Vietnam ’s Ministry ofEducation and Training and the Hessen State Ministry for Science andArt, which aims to encourage disadvantaged students to better themselvesand successfully accomplish their studies.

The Chief Representative of the Hessen State office in Vietnam ,Bui Cong Tho, said that this year’s scholarships give priority to femalestudents.

The Hessen State Ministry for Scienceand Art also plans to offer 150 scholarships to Vietnamese students inHanoi, Da Nang, Buon Me Thuot, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City and thenorthern province of Thai Nguyen later this year.-VNA
