Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had ameeting with Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) HugoHanz Siblesz in Hanoi on April 21.

The PM highly valued the PCA’s relations withVietnam and noted his wish to develop these ties in a more extensive andeffective manner.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs willbe assigned to be in charge of connections with the PCA, PM Phuc said, addingthat Vietnam welcomes the court of arbitration’s opening of an office in thecountry through which bilateral cooperation will be intensified in aresult-oriented fashion.

He noted Vietnam is exerting efforts to expandcomprehensive cooperation with other countries, regions and organisations inthe world. It hopes to receive the PCA’s advice on and assistance in legalstaff and lawyer training and related issues.

At the meeting, PCA Secretary-General Sibleszintroduced the court of arbitration’s activities to the PM.

He thanked the Vietnamese Government forpermitting the PCA office opening in Vietnam which will create favourableconditions for the PCA’s activities here, especially lawyer and legal stafftraining.-VNA
