Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has decided to provide 16,720 tonnes of rice for people in six provinces during the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
Under the Decision No. 165/QD-TTg, the Ministry of Finance will be in charge of providing rice taken from the national reserve for the six provinces, including the central province of Phu Yen with 7,020 tonnes, the central province of Quang Nam with 3,500 tonnes and the northern province of Thanh Hoa with 2,500 tonnes.
Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces in the central region will receive 2,000 tonnes and 1,500 tonnes respectively while the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai will be provided with 200 tonnes./.
