Hanoi (VNA)Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on June 28 sent a greeting message to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China (July 1, 1997-2017).

PM Phuc stressed that the return of Hong Kong was a significant historical event to the Party, Government and people of China, adding that Hong Kong’s socio-economic achievements overthe past 20 years have affirmed the success of the “one country – two systems” policy.

The PM affirmed that the Party, Government and people of Vietnam always attaches great importance to neighbourliness, friendship, comprehensive cooperation with the Party, Government and people of China, including the win-win collaboration with the Hong Kong Special AdministrativeRegion.

Vietnam is willing to work with China to effectively implement the common perceptionof senior leaders of the two countries, contributing to strengthening political trust and boosting the development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, making it deeper for peace, cooperation and development of the region and the world.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh sent a congratulatory message to Chief Executive ofthe Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor.-VNA
