The northern province of Ha Nam continues creating favourable conditions for overseas enterprises investing in the locality, striving to raise its total FDI inflow to around one billion USD by 2015.

Chairman of the Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee Mai Tien Dung made the affirmation at a February 11 meeting between local officials and representatives from 40 FDI enterprises in the province.

The locality will improve its investment climate, realising measures to speed up the reform of policy and administrative formalities, and shortening the time limitation for handling the formalities , especially those related to foreign investment.

Efforts will be exerted to support the businesses’ recruitment and popularise policies and legal regulations to labourers, in addition to promoting the province’s collaboration with the local authorities to hasten ground clearance for FDI projects.

FDI firms play a crucial role in pushing forward the province’s economic growth, contribute greatly to the local budget, and drive other economic sectors, said the chairman.

In 2013, Ha Nam lured 20 FDI projects with registered investment totalling 118 million USD. The province now has 79 FDI projects worth over 700 million USD.-VNA
