Ha Tinh reburies martyrs’ remains from Laos

A reburial ceremony for 32 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who died during the war in Laos was held in the central province of Ha Tinh on May 3.
A reburial ceremony for 32 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who died during the war in Laos was held in the central province of Ha Tinh on May 3.

The remains were found by a search team of Ha Tinh provincial Military Command, with the support of the authorities and peoples of Vientiane and Bolykhamsay provinces of Laos during the 2010-2011 dry season.

Of the remains, seven were identified by name and province while another six were identified only by name.

Earlier in Bolykhamsay province, local authorities and people held a memorial service for these remains.

The same day, an inauguration ceremony for the renovated Doc Lap martyrs’ cemetery was held in the northern province of Dien Bien.

As home to 2,432 graves of heroic martyrs who laid down their lives during the Dien Bien Phu campaign, the work was carried out by the DIA –Ha Tay investment and development company by the end of February, at a total cost of over 10 billion VND./.
