Hai Phong guarantees safety for foreign investors

Leaders of the northern port city of Hai Phong have pledged to continue ensuring safety to foreign invested enterprises in the locality.

During a meeting with representativesfrom local firms in Vinh Bao district and the Taiwan BusinessAssociation in Hai Phong on June 4, Secretary of the municipal PartyCommittee Nguyen Van Thanh said the enterprises can put their worries atrest while operating in the city.

He vowed that the city will directly settle all obstacles arising during their operations.

According to Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Duong AnhDien, the situation in the city has remained stable thanks to jointefforts of the local authorities and residents, as well as thecooperation of foreign investors, including those from Taiwan .

Currently Hai Phong is hosting 111 Taiwanese and Chinese enterprises,he noted, adding that the firms have made great contributions to thedevelopment of the city through boosting exports, creating jobs andconducting charitable activities.

Dien suggestedthat the Taiwan Business Association will further their cooperation withHai Phong authority, while helping the city attract more investors.

Representatives from the participating firms and the associationthanked the city’ leaders for their close support, expressing theirdesire to expand their operations in the locality.-VNA

Vietnam takes steps to address drop in durian exports to China

A report from the ministry shows that Vietnam’s durian exports to China reached only 35,000 tonnes worth around 130 million USD in the first four months of this year, equivalent to only 20% of export targets. In comparison, durian exports totalled 500 million USD in the same period last year.

Vietnam Airlines resumes direct Hanoi–Moscow flights

Vietnam Airlines will operate two flights on the Hanoi–Moscow route a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. From July 2026, the airline plans to increase the frequency to three flights per week to meet rising travel demand between the two countries.
