The northern port city of Hai Phong has kicked off the innovation partnership programme (IPP), part of the development cooperation project between the governments of Vietnam and Finland.

IPP will help promote innovation process among Vietnamese enterprises as well as provide professional training.

Hai Phong is one of eight localities in Vietnam selected to join the programme.

According to an agreement reached at a recent meeting between IPP’s chief advisor Hannu Kokko, and a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Hai Phong city’s Science and Technology Department, IPP will organise two seminars in November within the framework of the programme to introduce IPP, international experience and the involvement of universities in innovation partnership.

A business forum will also be held later on to help enterprises define their partners.

IPP will also study business capacity in the field and their requirements for training./.
