Japan’s exhibition featuring beautiful handicrafts and traditional techniques of Tohoku craftsmen will take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi from late this month.

The event is to remember the earthquake tsunami in Tohoku on March 11, 2011. The Tohoku region, known for its beautiful landscapes and rich culture, was damaged by an unprecedented natural disaster.

On the display are ceramic, lacquer, weaving, metal, wooden and bamboo works by member artisans of the Mingei (art of the people) movement in Japan.

The exhibition is scheduled to be held in Ho Chi Minh City from October 31 to November 10 and in Hanoi from December 12-22.-VNA
