Hanoi: 94.5 billion VND to build houses for poor people

The Hanoi municipal People’s Committee on Oct. 25 decided to spend 94.5 billion VND (roughly 4.5 million USD) to help 3,780 poor families in the city build or repair their houses.

Accordingly,each household will receive 20 million VND from the city’s budget andfive million VND from the fund for the poor. They can also get a loan ofmaximum 8 million VND from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.

The city has asked relevant agencies to collect resources for the plan by December 31, 2011.

During 2009-2010, the city helped build and repair 7,467 houses forpoor people with 117.5 billion VND sourced from the municipal budget./.
