The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Chang-il, held a banquet in Hanoi on April 13 to mark the 100 th birthday of his country’s founder, Kim Il Sung.

The National Assembly’s Vice Chairwoman, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, was one of the guests to attend the banquet.

On speaking at the event, Ngan said she hoped that the DPRK people will make even greater achievements in their national construction, development and reunification programme.

She confirmed that Vietnam always attaches a lot of importance to developing its traditional friendship and cooperation with the DPRK.

She said that Vietnam consistently supports peace, stability and a non-nuclear Korean Peninsula and called on all the concerned parties to solve their differences peacefully, through dialogues and not to take actions that could cause tension and undermine peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.-VNA
