Hanoi (VNA) – The 51st edition of theInternational Letter-Writing Competition for Young People was launched in Hanoion December 21.

The contest, organised by the Universal Postal Union (UPU),tasks students to “Write a letter to someone influential explaining why and howthey should take action on the climate crisis”.

It is open to all Vietnamese children under 15.Each contestant is required to submit a handwritten letter of less than 800words before March 2, 2022.
The contestants can write their letters in any language butforeign-language letters must be accompanied by their translations intoVietnamese, which is the language used for judgement.
The organisers will award one first prize worth 5 millionVND (218 USD). Second-prize winners will receive 3 million VND each, and thosewho clinch the third prize 2 million VND each. Several other prizes will bepresented.
The prize winning Vietnamese letter and its English or Frenchtranslation will be sent to the international UPU writing contest.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.
