Putting areas with new cases under control as soon as possible
Although Hanoi is well containing COVID-19, the risk of the pandemic resurging remains as a number of new case were reported in the city on July 16, Dung said.
He, therefore, asked departments, agencies, and especially relevant localities and forces working on the forefront of the pandemic fight to take prompt actions in contract tracing, sealing off pandemic-hit areas, and quarantine.
It is a must to put new outbreaks as soon as possible by all measures to prevent the pandemic from further spreading, the official requested.
Pointing out the lax management at medical checkpoints at the gateways to the city, Dung asked the municipal Party Committee to tighten its inspection to ensure that all of the 22 checkpoints operate round the clock, and all people exiting and entering the city are checked.
Forces working at the checkpoints, including police, military, health workers and local forces, need to raise their sense of responsibility and closely coordinate to complete assigned tasks, he said, noting any violations would be strictly handled.
The official also urged quarantine forces at Noi Bai International Airport to work harder to create a ”firm wall” against the pandemic.
To ensure social welfare, Dung said procedures must be sped up to pay allowances for employees and employers affected by the pandemic in accordance with the Government’s Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP.
Apart from activities conducted by the mass media system, localities, agencies and units should bring into full play loudspeakers at residential areas and traffic junctions, along with mobile loudspeakers, he said.
Consolidating preventive measures
Reviewing the pandemic prevention and control over the past time, Dung said the frontline workers have set bright examples and become a reliable pillar of all-level Party Committees, authorities and people.

Meanwhile, each family and resident need to follow the health ministry’s 5K message - khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration), along with regulations set by the city, he said.
Emphasising the significance of preparedness in the pandemic fight, Dung asked all-level Party Committees and authorities to order preparations in line with the “four-on-the-spot” motto - on-the-spot command, on-the-spot force, on-the-spot means and materials, and on-the-spot logistics.
The preparation work must come with specific plans and scenarios, with responsibility of individuals clearly defined, the official said.
The Party Committee should instruct departments, agencies, districts and towns that host industrial parks and clusters to guide and create conditions for businesses and production facilities to draw up plans and scenarios for the pandemic to maintain production even when the situation worsens.
At the same time, it is necessary to roll out new prevention measures introduced by the health ministry, and prepare for vaccine reception and vaccinations as scheduled, he said. /.
