In attendance were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, the Ambassador of France, and other ambassadors.
“Legend of Opera” brought together 110 artists, including diva My Linh, multi-talented artist Kenjah David from France, singers Vu Thang Loi and Dao To Loan, the Giao Orchestra, the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre under the direction of conductor Dong Quang Vinh, and Hanoi Opera House Deputy Director Chu Anh Hung.
The Hanoi Opera House is an architectural jewel started by the French in 1901 and completed in 1911, based on the Opéra Garnier Theatre in Paris but smaller in stature, with unique architecture and materials suitable for the local climate.
It is a “sacred” site, and been witness to Vietnam’s most important historical and revolutionary events. It is also the birthplace of Vietnamese opera and theatre./.
