Representatives from the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications shared their inspection and citizen reception experience during their working session in the capital city on July 24.
To well handle petitions, it is necessary to intensify activities to encourage and persuade people to fully implement the State’s policies and laws, said Hanoi leaders.
Hanoi has issued the Law on Capital City , which aims to better the management of issues relating to the lives of its people, they said, adding that the city has also increased inspections on civil servants’ attitude of serving people.
According to Vu Hong Khanh, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, in 2012, Hanoi received about 10,000 petitions, focusing on such issues as land, planning, environment, construction and housing. Of all, 90 percent of cases were handled.
Expressing thanks to experience shared in the work, Sakamoto Tetsushi, Japanese Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, said he believes that the fine traditional relationship between Vietnam and Japan over the last 40 years will lay a foundation for his ministry and Hanoi to cooperate more closely in the future.-VNA
