Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - The capital city of Hanoi has beenimplementing solutions to open up sales channels as the COVID-19 pandemichas had a negative impact on the production and circulation ofgoods, in particular 'One Commune, One Product' (OCOP) goods.

OCOPgoods are highly localised products, often food, that come from one smallspecific area.

Duringsocial distancing, e-commerce platforms have become shopping destinations for alarge number of Hanoi consumers. This is an opportunityfor OCOP businesses to switch to online trading.

Directorof Ubofood Vietnam Do Hoang Thach said that the company was distributing morethan 1,500 products from 200 suppliers in 30 provinces and cities, of whichthere are nearly 100 OCOP products of Hanoi.

Dueto the convenience and safety of e-commerce, the number of customers buyingproducts grew during this time, and the revenue of the company in one month ofsocial distancing increased 10 times compared to previously, he said.

Tosell on social networks, OCOP businesses need to be proficient in technology, sales skills, photography, writing and online communication. To sellproducts on e-commerce platforms, products need to meet many quality standardsset by the platforms.

Thecoordination office of the Hanoi new rural development programme said that thecity had 1,054 OCOP products by the end of last year, mainly agriculturalproduce, food, beverages, and handicrafts.

Thepromotion of these products was particularly important: Participatingin e-commerce, online sales and livestreams to promote the products is aneffective solution to help maintain the supply chain of agricultural produceduring the pandemic, said the office.

Ithas organised the "OCOP product livestream festival" from June, tosupport the consumption of OCOP products.

Italso organised free online training programmes to improve the knowledge andsales skills of participants.

Thereby, businesses, co-operatives and producers can connect with each other to forme-commerce agricultural produce supply chains.

GeneralDirector of MD Queens JSC Trinh Kim Thu said that through participating in thetraining, they had grasped skills in branding and livestream sales tobring OCOP products to the market, and at the same time, participants had alsoexchanged and shared difficulties and experiences in selling on e-commercesystems and social networks.

Onlinebusiness models had brought positive effects in social life, not onlyensuring disease prevention and control but also in line with thefuture development trend of e-commerce, she added./.
