Hanoi takes urgent measures to ensure traffic safety

Corporation (Transerco) to carry out urgent measures to curb serious
traffic accidents.

The chairman asked the Department of Transport and the city police to inspect and strictly punish officials and staff who violate regulations while being on duty.
The Department of Transport is also assigned to conduct inspections of the operation of transport businesses, stations, driver training and licensing establishments, as well as registration centres.
The police force is required to increase their patrols and promptly deal with violations.
Transerco is urged to conduct regular health checks for bus drivers as well as maintenance services for their vehicles.
So far this year, Hanoi has seen 300 serious traffic accidents, killing 318 people and injuring 15 others. The numbers of accidents and casualties did decline but remained at high level.-VNA
