Hanoi will hold the very first rural youth festival on March 20-21 as part of festivities to celebrate the 1,000th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi.

The event will be organised by the Hanoi Communist Youth Union with the purpose of encouraging young people to uphold the spirit of creativity and competition in the development of the national economy.

It is expected to be a forum for young people to learn and exchange experiences in productivity, coordination in production and sales promotion.

During the festival, a series of activities will take place, including an exhibition under the theme of rural youth and integration, a seminar on building new rural areas, a youth camp, art performances and traditional sports games.

Ngo Duy Hieu, Secretary of the Hanoi Communist Youth Union, said the festival is of great significance as it comes in line with the capital city’s endeavours to develop agriculture, farmers and rural areas as well as expand its administrative boundary, embracing the largest rural area in the Red River Delta./.
